Torkaten Kessin, a half-timbering building from the 18th century, forms the front conclusion of a parish farmstead which was set up as a four side court the gate cottage crofts. Its exceptional importance for the historical ensemble lies in the entrance function not least to the court.

Every generation has this monument protected building pushed open its stamp. Despite all sorts of uses e.g. as a residential building, stable or tavern the character of the house could be caught sight of with its central gate passage.

After completion of the two-year rehabilitation and reorganisation measures has the gate cottage crofts with a new function when community centre of the church community of Kessin one further piece history written.
